Can I help others who want help?
Absolutely! If you're a "giver", and want to help others who need it, we suggest you check out our Club Community Blog. (http://club.tripod.com).
We send our members here, when they're in need of help from other members, with something that Customer Service can't support them with.

Can Tech Support recommend a third party service to me?
Unfortunately, due to conflicting opinions in the office about third party software, it would vary depending on who you asked.
So, as an overall policy, we decided it would be better to simply not offer advice on third party products any longer.
We can only suggest that you search the internet, and post your questions on various webdesign forums, for help on product and service recommendations.

How do I get help?
The majority of the help we offer to our customers is through our self-service help site.
Many answers to questions you have most likely have already been addressed on the pages of this help site. Since our new help site has a fairly accurate search feature, we ask that you use that first.
However, if you fail to find the answer to your question, you have two options to contact us for further help.
1) If you're a Premium Subscriber, you'll have a Livechat option. Login to your account, and click on "My Account". When Live help is available, you'll see the option for Live Help on this page.
2) Click on the "Open New Support Ticket" link at the top of the page. This will allow you to fill out our online contact form, to get in touch with us. We strongly urge you, if filling out the form, to select the appropriate service you need help with from the drop-down menu. Selecting the wrong service will result in a much longer response time, from the correct department.

What can tech support help me with?
If something is wrong with your account, or there is an outage, Customer Service will be able to assist you.
Generally, if there's a serious problem network wide, it will be posted in the Tripod Alerts section. We ask that you check here, before contacting Customer Service.
Our new help site also has an "Email Subscription" option. We suggest that you subscribe to updates to the Alerts for Tripod. If there is an outage, or problem, when we update this section of our Help site, you will receive an email, proactively notifying you of the problem. We hope this feature works well for our clients.

What can't tech support help me with?
Unfortunately, with the number of clients Tripod/Lycos currently has, Tech support can't provide all the services we once could.
Though we'd love to be able to help each member of Tripod build their site from start to complete, we simply do not have the man power to do so.
We ask that prior to contacting tech support, that you make sure there is actually an issue with your account. Ie; something's broken, you're locked out, etc.
Simply not being able to do something with your page, does not classify as something Tech support would be able to help you with. While we'd like to, we've spent many, many hours writing our help text for this help website. We'd ask you use the "Search" feature, to try to locate the answer to your question(s). We've put a lot of work into making sure that the majority of your questions are already answered on our Help site.
Note: Customer Service reserves the right to not respond to any inquiry that we receive, that has already been answered on our Help Site. Please Search for your answer, prior to contacting Customer Service.

Who do I call for customer service?
Tripod does not offer phone support for its service.
The only method of support for Tripod is online, either via LiveChat, or via e-mail.
No phone support will be offered for Tripod. If you reach our offices via telephone, you will be instructed to go online and submit your inquiry via e-mail.
We realize this isn't optimal, however, it is the only way we can ensure the same level of quality for each member who requires help.

Will Customer Service write code for me?
Unfortunately, no. Tripod cannot assist you in writing any code, debugging any code, or creating your webpages in any way.
While we'd love to help you out, we simply have entirely too many clients to design each of their webpages for them.
